Who I Am

Brianna Andrews Tavada is an Emmy‑winning storyteller, audience strategist, and communications professional whose work centers on understanding people — what they care about, how they communicate, and what helps them feel seen and connected.
Brianna has built her career around translating complexity into clarity. Her Emmy‑winning series "Too Dark To Be Latino" sparked national conversations about identity, race, and belonging — demonstrating her ability to surface underrepresented perspectives, recognize culturally relevant themes, and craft narratives that resonate across local, national, and global audiences.
Her range as a communicator is shaped by the diversity of the places she has lived and worked. Born and raised in New York City, she began her career in national news before making a bold move to Erie, Pennsylvania — a small, close‑knit market with a completely different pace, culture, and audience makeup than the city she grew up in. In Erie, Brianna served not only as an anchor and reporter but as a true newsroom leader, often guiding coverage, shaping editorial decisions, and helping set the tone for how stories were told. Her reporting there included conversations with national figures such as Martin Luther King III, as well as interviews with the Mayor of Erie and other community leaders. Working in a market where resources were lean and roles were fluid taught her how to lead with clarity, adapt quickly, and connect with audiences across generational, cultural, and geographic lines.
Brianna later brought that versatility to Jacksonville, Florida, where she has covered some of the most consequential stories— from national investigations and breaking news to public safety crises and social issues. Her reporting has included interviews with Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, the Mayor of Jacksonville, civil rights attorney Ben Crump, and a range of celebrities, cultural figures, and public leaders. Her coverage of major events — including the Dollar General mass shooting — strengthened her ability to navigate sensitive topics, earn trust quickly, and communicate with clarity in high‑stakes moments.
Her experience spans television, digital, and social platforms, where she consistently blends audience insight, communication strategy, and storytelling to inform, engage, and connect with broad and diverse communities. This cross‑platform fluency — along with her lived experience moving between big cities, small towns, and diverse communities — uniquely positions her to connect with audiences of all backgrounds.
Brianna earned a degree in Broadcast Journalism with a minor in Computer Information Systems from Quinnipiac University. During her studies, she completed six competitive internships and was selected as a young delegate to the Nobel Peace Prize World Summit in Bogotá, Colombia — an experience that deepened her belief in storytelling as a force for understanding, community building, and social impact.
Whether reporting from the field, developing content strategies, or exploring new ways to reach audiences, Brianna is driven by a simple principle: understand people first. Her work is grounded in curiosity, empathy, and a commitment to creating narratives that inform, inspire, and foster meaningful connection.
